Food Prep: It’s More Than Just For Parties

My husband is a passionate foodie. That means he is passionate about food and enjoys every aspect of it. He enjoys thinking about, planning for and buying food. It can get so strong that some days he will speak up before we have even had a taste of the dinner we had. He smiles with a twinkle of his eyes and gives me a big grin. Me, the non-foodie thinks, “I just wanna eat this dinner. I don’t really care about tomorrow’s.” He just doesn’t get me, lol. Find out more!

For events that include food, it takes a lot planning and preparation. Everything needs to be perfect. The food should be both beautiful to the eyes and delicious to the palate. It is important that the food be prepared at the perfect time and in a way that appeals to everyone. It is very time-consuming. Why are people doing this? To share the love of food.

You should also consider food prep when you embark on your journey to a fit and healthy life. You have made a commitment to transform your body, mind and spirit. You want this journey to be easy. Preparing your food ahead for the week is one of the most important things you can do. You can plan ahead for your family or yourself to cut down on waste and make your food more satisfying.

It doesn’t really matter how many meals per day you eat, but prepping your food on the weekends is a great way to stay on track during the week. Depending on my weight training status, I typically eat 5-6 meals per day. Whole foods make up the majority of my food purchase. I don’t like prepackaged foods. I have found a system that works best for me, which I will share with you. Preparation for this portion of your health- and fitness journey will be different than yours. That is because people have different tastes and preferences. My goal is for you to get an idea of how food prep might look, and you can take it from there.
